Registration for the 2023 Holiday Lights Contest
The Mulvane Chamber of Commerce is looking for holiday decorators! The contest will run from Dec. 2-23. Decorate your business/house or yard to show your holiday spirit. Judges will pick their favorite displays and the public can vote for the People’s Choice winner via Facebook.
RULES:
- ***Entries accepted until 5:00 pm Wednesday, December 13, 2023***
- Decorations must be in place by December 13, 2023.
- Contestants will leave all lights on until 9:00 pm from December 1st thru December 25th, 2023
- Size or number of lights are not primary criteria.
- Judging will be based on originality, unique use of holiday theme, materials and space.
- Decorations can be on windows, buildings or yards & must be visible from the street.
CATEGORIES:
1. Best Overall Display: Recognizing the most impressive and well-executed holiday lights display in town. Sponsored by the Kansas Star Casino
2. Classic Holiday Spirit: Honoring the display that captures the traditional essence and spirit of the holidays
Sponsored by the Hampton Inn & Suites – Mulvane, Kansas
3. People’s Choice Award: Allowing the community to vote for their favorite display through Facebook votes! Sponsored by Angela Fox – State Farm Insurance Agent
4. Best Business/Commercial Display: Recognizing local businesses that go all out in decorating their storefronts for the holidays.
AWARDS:
- $200 cash prize for Best Overall Display, Classic Holiday Spirit and People’s Choice Award
- Free year of membership to the Mulvane Chamber of Commerce for best business/commercial
Entries accepted through December 13. Participants must agree to have lights turned on during specified times for photos and judging.
Address will be listed on a contest map.
Entries can only win one category.
Winners will be announced on December 21, 2023 for all categories!
